Donald Walker, O.D.
I am a Shreveport native who went to Louisiana Tech University where I met my wife. I graduated from Southern College of Optometry in 1977 and have been practicing Optometry in west Shreveport for the past twenty-nine years.
I enjoy all aspects of eyecare, from treating infections and glaucoma to fitting bifocal and toric contact lenses.Our practice examines patients of all ages starting at age three.
I enjoy duck hunting and teaching Sunday School. I am one of the few doctors who does not play golf, so you can find me at work on Wednesday afternoons.

Jon Branton, O.D.
Our resident "Ragin' Cajun" doctor has been a provider of services with our office for 15 years. Dr. Branton graduated from the University of Alabama Medical Center/School of Optometry.
He is a member of The AOA, Northwest Zone of Optometry, the Optometry Association of Louisiana, and is a Fellow of the American Acadamey of Optometry.
He has been married for thirty-six years to his beautiful wife Pat and has one adult son.
Susan Timon, Office Manager
I am a wife and mother of three adult children and six grandchildren. When first employed at Eyes & Eyewear, I had never worn glasses or contact lens. Learning about the field of Optometry has been a challenge and an adventure. It's been twenty-two years now and I've experienced a little bit of it all.
Being office manager for such a terrific staff is easy. Working for such a wonderful doctor is definitely a perk! Most of us have worked together for many years and have become family. It's now been almost half of my life since I was hired and I'm having the pleasure of seeing a second generation coming through our doors. The children we saw when I first started working here are now bringing their own children to have their eyes examined.
I have truly been blessed to be part of such a wonderful clinic. I look forward to seeing each of you for many more years before retirement.
Debbie Cowgill, Staff Accounting
I am a long-time employee of Dr. Walker and I have a wonderful husband of twenty-eight years and two girls. One daughter is twenty-four and has just recently married and the other is twenty, and is a senior at Louisiana Tech Univerisity.
In 1979 Dr. Walker hired me in the original "Eyes and Eyewear" business on Monkhouse Drive. At that time it was a two-man show (he and I) and I did whatever he needed me to do, from payroll to patients.
Through the years, God blessed the business and we moved to Pines Road and hired more employees.
In 1986, after I had my second daughter, I decided to be a full time stay at home mom.
In 1998, I just couldn't stay away and came back to Dr. Walker in order to take on the Staff Accounting job and pay bills and take care of payroll duties. A lot had changed with the business since I had last worked...we had COMPUTERS!
It is awesome to be back at Eyes and Eyewear working with such a wonderful family in a Christian environment. It is also great to see patients that were babies when they first came to see us and are now coming back with babies of their own.
Liz Haws, Front Office/Insurance Specialist
I have only been employed for a short time here, but thoroughly enjoy the people and atmosphere here. I work in the front office, greeting patients, making appointments, taking payments, filiing insurance, and learning new skills every day.
I have a wonderful husband, Joey. We have been happily married for 28 years. We have been blessed with three children; Joey, 28, who lives in Fort Worth with my beautiful daughter-in-law Laurie and our precious gift from God, our grandson, Joey, 5! Then there are our twins, Jeremy, 19, still at home, and Tracy, who recently got married to another blessed addition to our family, Justin.
I love God, my family, and friends. I am now blessed to add to that list of friends the employees of Eyes & Eyewear.
Amy Meek, Optometric Assistant
I am the lady who will perform all the tests needed in preparation for your eye exam. If you want contact lenses, I will help teach you about all aspects of contact lens care and will assist you in learning how to wear contact lenses properly.

2007 marked the 15 year anniversary of my employment at our clinic. The spirit within our office and the support and friendship we all share make each day at work a blessing for me.
I work in dispensing and love helping patients find that perfect frame they've been longing for.
I was born and bred in Alabama, and have two children and three grandchildren. When not working, I enjoy tennis, traveling with my husband on our motorcycle, camping, and cheering on my favorite college team...roll tide!
Tracy Simmons, Optician/Dispensing
February 2008 marked my seventh year with Eyes & Eyewear. I work predominately in the dispensary, but have the opportunity to work in all areas of the office occasionally, so you may see me anywhere!
It has been such a blessing working with this awesome group of professionals. Our staff and patients truly share a family-type bond that makes coming to work everyday a joy. The favorite part of my job is helping patients with problems which seemed unfixable, and then sending them on their way with a smile.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, writing, reading, watching old movies, and incorporating fun into everything I do. Whether you're a new patient or an old friend, I look forward to seeing you and helping serve your needs in anyway I can.

I am brand new to the Eyes & Eyewear team, but am already learning so much. I work predominately in the front office helping patients make appointments and filing insurances, but I also enjoy the opportunity to work in the dispensary helping patients choose the best glasses to suit their needs.
